August Highlights
Zoom Changes
You no longer have a personalized GoStudent Zoom account, instead GoStudent will generate your sessions links automatically in the WebApp. What does it mean for you and your sessions?
💎Sessions can only be started in the WebApp via the “start session” button.
💎We would recommend syncing your Google Calendar with the WebApp so you have the session link there as well.
💎You will also receive the Zoom link via SMS before the session to use in case you have issues accessing the WebApp.
💎We recommend scheduling your sessions in advance so that the link is generated in time.

Vacancy Page
- Students are heading back to school and waiting for you to help them for this new year. 🏫 A little boost in their confidence is the key to their success and you can be part of this. 💪
- Have a look at our vacancy page. This page allows you to take over students who are already taking classes with GoStudent in various different subjects. Many students are just waiting to have the right tutor to teach them. On the page, you can see the age, school level, frequency of classes, and additional information regarding the student, along with instructions for how to apply. 📝

Closing of WA Groups
We have closed down the original WhatsApp Subject Groups. An email was sent that pertained to the fact that we have created new Whatsapp Subject Groups❗ These groups are more diversified in terms of the subjects that are offered.
Please take the time to join the groups with subjects that you have been verified for on the WebApp. If you have not joined the new groups and require the links, you can refer to the email that was sent, or check the updates channel on WhatsApp, or lastly contact your Tutor Success Manager for assistance.
The groups are used by tutors to find replacements, and are also the space for sharing information and resources. 📖

Have you ever wondered🤔,
“How can I get more students?” or,
“How come I am not getting booked for trial sessions?
One of the reasons may be due to the fact your profile is missing a Tutor Teaser Video🎞️!
These videos are crucial in finding the right tutor, as it shows us what kind of personality you have! Every student is different, and it is so important to ensure we're finding the perfect tutor prior to placing them in the WhatsApp group.
Here are 8 simple tips to make an eye catching teaser video:
- Use Plenty of Light💡
- Use a Clean Background
- Prioritise Crisp, Clear Audio🎧
- Avoid Shaky Footage
- Understand the Rule of Thirds
- When using your Phone, use the back camera and record in landscape mode🖼️
- Work on Your Camera Presence
- Plan your Videos in Advance
The team often watches the videos of tutors when choosing the right fit for the student. Having a high quality teaser video can be a deal breaker and will definitely help you have more trial sessions and get vacancy posts.
To be successful on the platform it is absolutely essential that you upload a Tutor Teaser video to the Google Drive.

Support Line Etiquette
The Support Line +1 (437) 747-3891, is one of the more helpful tools we have here at Go-Student. Both tutors and clients connect with support staff who are happy to provide assistance.
To help ensure that help is provided in quick and orderly fashion, it would be best to follow the correct instructions whilst using the support line. To familiarize yourself with proper Support Line etiquette, we have created an easy to read guide that should cover the most common inquiries.
As mentioned in the image, while you may think it is quicker to Dial 6 for other, you can save yourself time by using the correct options. This will ensure that your request is being sent to the correct support staff, thus avoiding needing to be transferred.
Tutor of the Month
Introducing the Tutor of the Month Award!
We want to foster a positive tutoring community and culture, thus we are introducing the Tutor of the Month initiative. Each month, we will announce the winners in the Tutor newsletter and winners will also have the option to be featured on our Social Media channels. The Tutor of the Month initiative will allow us to spread awareness of our tutors, share in your successes, and highlight those who represent the best qualities we hold dear here at GoStudent.
Eligibility for Tutor of the Month includes:
- Tutors who are involved with the community via TA, WhatsApp, Vacancy Page, etc.
- 3 month minimum time required tutoring with GS.
- Full profile, teaser video upload
- Trial/Regular Session Experience
- A Positive Feedback Ticket

What's your best study tip or piece of advice for students?
"Be flexible and adaptable when it comes to studying, and find what works for you! For subjects that are more calculation based (e.g. mathematics), grinding out practice problems and doing practice tests are your best bet. Alternatively, for subjects that are more memorization based (e.g. biology), strategies like spaced repetition and active recall are proven to be very effective. While a lot of students do find these strategies effective, they may not work for you! That's why it is very important to find what works for you."
